As Lino said on Tuesday's Catholic Guy Show, this week is the one year anniversary of "Goob Week," the week that Lino's crazy best friend Goob visited New York and the big Catholic Guy Show.

Here's the Goob man in the flesh:



The day that Goob stopped into the show happened to be one of the greatest Catholic Guy Shows of all time. Lino announced to the world that he and his girlfriend Toni, who he had met on the show in a "Christian Speed Dating" segment, had broken up.

I called into the show and advised Lino to resist trying to be friends with his ex. I told him nothing good could come out of it. Goob agreed. But both Lino and Toni, who called into the show a few minutes after my phone call, violently disagreed.

A few weeks later, after Lino had a slight "misunderstanding" with his ex, he was gracious enough to invite me onto the air to apologize for not taking my advice. And Toni later emailed me personally to apologize for our on-air miscommunications.

Ah, the memories!

I should point out that Lino and Toni are on friendly terms now. Of course they could have avoided most of their earlier misunderstandings if they had just followed my advice... But, hey, the past is past.

Lino has been single ever since.
