Dost my ears deceive me?

Great show today with Mama Rulli in studio. The woman is fantastic, and I wish she could be on the show more often!

Which, by the way, it was Fr. Jim that got hosed in Who's More Catholic today: Lino let his mom vote twice! So now we know, the only way Lino can beat Fr. Jim is by using a double-vote!

Anywho, don't know if anyone picked up on this during the show, but is Ryan Stewart gone as we know him? Three things that caught my attention.

1. Lino mentioned that Christine picked out the sound effects today. That's Ryan's job. If Ryan was out sick today, surely it would have been mentioned. Any other time, people who call in sick (I'm staring at you Lou), get ridiculed and called out.

2. Lino, when naming people in the studio, did not mention Ryan at all.

3. Lino did not thank Ryan at the end of the show.

I dunno, with Ryan's non-vocal presence and no mentions of him whatsoever, give me an odd feeling about this. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid. At any rate, Ryan is a good producer, hopefully he returns soon.

  1. I think Ryan is still on the show, he just prefers not to speak. I thought Lino mentioned him Friday, or in the days right before that.

Speaking of things NOT mentioned, does anybody know why the debate between Lino and Gus was postponed? It was because Gus' dad passed away suddenly Tuesday morning....did any show mention that? Plus Bob Dunning was in a bad car accident, did any show mention that? It seems the staff of 159 would like us to pray for these events!

I also read where former employees of Sirius/XM are talking about at least 50 layoffs recently.

On a lighter note, I LOVED Mama Rulli! It is the privilege of Moms to embarrass their kids, in a good way, of course ;-)

I can confirm That Gus Lloyd's Father did pass away Tuesday night.(10/07/08) As far as Bob Dunning being in a vehicle accident I was not aware. No-one has mentioned it on any show I've listened to

You'd think Lino actually being a real friend of Gus he would of said something to the listeners so we could pray for the repose of Gus's father's soul. Lino not being a friend? or was he asked not to say something?

Yes! Mama Rulli was a real hoot! Perhaps she can be encouraged to call in as a regular. I thought I could never laugh as hard as I did the day she was on.

Did anyone else think Mama Rulli sounds alot like Sarah Palin?

Friday's show! Lino does mention Ryan. Mama Rulli does sound a little like Sarah Palin!

  4. Actually, Bob Dunning talked about it length. I probably should have mentioned it on the blogosphere, but I did not think of it.

As far as Gus's dad is concerned, perhaps he wanted a little privacy. Could be one of the reasons why it was not mentioned.

  6. Gus' father passed away on the night of the 14th (not the 7th). I mentioned it in the comments on the 14th. (I was supposed to be on the conversion corner that morning, (15th) and they called me to say they'd cancelled it.) I did think it was odd it was not mentioned this week on the station.
