As promised, the site looks very different. Not much change, save for the new header and extremely simplified color scheme. If the header sounds too mean (the worst of Lino), let me know and we can change it. Until then, I hope it doesn't bring the site down with its suckage.

Here's the clip of a caller named Jean from D.C. that apparently was having a bad day when she called the The Catholic Guy show, and pretty much took it out on Lino and the crew.

Jean, if you by any chance read this*, we'd love to hear from you. We're sure you had a reason for being irritated, so if you could give us those reasons, we'd love to hear it!



*Chances of Jean finding this blog are slim to none.

After yesterday's show, which featured hand sanitizers for 50 minutes, today's show was on. Lino kept the pace fresh, the banter witty, and gave us a great Wednesday of radio.

I'm sure you're already aware of the Bill O'Reilly/Sue Simmons clips, which are featured below. The gem of today's show, however, was Father Chern, (our Father Chern!) in the "No Dumb Questions" segment. Father Chern had great responses to many of the questions, no doubt giving some listeners peace of mind. One that I particulary enjoyed was Father Chern telling a caller, the last one of the segment, that she shouldn't be scared into baptism, something that many churches do with success.

Baptism is a great sacrament, but you should do it mostly out of love and obedience to God, not fear. I won't rattle on too much: Father Chern will probably have more to say about today's show from his own eyes. His presence in the studio gives him a much greater advantage than I have at home when it comes to that.

Lino did mention the blog address today, and that's my regret about yesterday's post: I didn't display any gratitude towards Lou and Lino for spending a minute or two praising the website and the semi-hard work we put into it. Instead it was gripe-gripe -gripe. Lino spent too long doing this, Lino should have done that, Lino's still single, etc.

I focused on the negative aspects without showing gratitude for the positives. While it's ok to criticize in a loving manner, leaving out my thanks and appreciation for Lou complimenting Catholicguyshow.com and Linofans.com is not cool!

Thanks for the love. And the great show. Hopefully today's is one that gets replayed this weekend, as I advise tuning in. The third hour, particulary the No Dumb Questions segment was perhaps the best hour of radio Lino, Lou and the crew have put on in the three months I've listened to this wonderful show.

Talk about starting off the show on a down note.

"Sorry about the loss of your show." Funny, I heard the show for an additional three hours after hearing that e-mail.

Far be it from me to rip into someone for criticizing the show. I sometimes doze off during the Wheel of News segments, but I attribute that to having to deal with these same news stories all day. So yeah, there's my criticism, but it doesn't mean that the end of the show is near.

Now, I know that the person who wrote that emailed it to the show, meaning that they have some sort of internet access, and could read this. If they do, I want them to know that The Catholic Guy Show (TCGS) will live on despite the departure of Maureen (even Maureen would agree with this).

After that, we heard from Brett, filling in as a phone answerer, and from there, we had several intriguing developments. Lino almost met a girl, Brett did pushups for prayers (fifty!), and about four playings of Metallica's "Turn The Page," which inspired me to download the song from iTunes when I got back home from the newspaper.

But yeah, Lino nearly met the girl, but when he tried to speak to her, she turned away, completely ignoring the man in a cold fashion reminiscent of 7th grade, when I asked Casey to skate with me during a romantic song at the roller-rink. The look of disdain given to me was the same look anyone would have during a Hugh Jackman movie: utter disdain.

But anywho, the woman missed out on a great guy. I agree with Dan in the earlier post: don't beat yourself up Lino. It will hit you when you least expect it: Casey and I finally did take that skating venture, and true love blossomed shortly thereafter, culminating in a beautiful example of .... actually no. There was no blossoming second chance at love with Casey. Still dateless.

Anywho, after listening to the show today, I think that Lou should get the promotion and become producer. To everyone saying that something good can come from Maureen leaving, Lou getting a promotion and raise by earning the producer position would be a beautiful thing.

We can hope, can't we?

On a side note, I will be picking up my sister from the airport tomorrow, and she will be listening to the show for the first time (for at least an hour). Hopefully we will have an excellent show tomorrow, and my dear sister won't think her brothe was so crazy for converting to the true faith.

In one of the best moments in TCGS history, Lino and Lou responded to an email saying the show is going downhill by playing "The End" by The Doors.

I thought Tuesday's show was great (I've said that about every show this week, but trust us, we'll rip into an episode if need be). I like that Lino was able to turn Frank Baum's death into a great spiritual lesson about doing something that lives on, that impacts people's lives in a positive way.

Also great (self promotion) was the fact that Lino did have positive things to say about Linofans.com, and this blog, dropping names and whatnot. It felt good to be appreciated.

I just wish fans would be a little nicer to Maureen. It's funny when Lino does it, but I think some listeners take that as a green light to rip into Maureen any way possible. "Oh yeah, Lino does it, so it must be ok." However, Lino has a deft touch when it comes to comedy, something that not everyone else is able to do, and the insults come off as just that... insulting.

I know, I sound like a big mean camp counselor on this one, but it is mildly upsetting to see such a good person being dragged through the mud. Joking is fine, just don't take it too far.

Allright, back to fun blogging, since I am not having to work tomorrow (I got called in today, and you guessed it: BluMunkee did NOT work, making my evening hectic and tragic all at once), I am going to try to live-blog the show tomorrow. We won't do it for every show, but this one has meaning: our favorite producer Maureen is leaving us.

See everyone tomorrow: as for me, its a Pastrami-Roast Beef sandwich with a touch of A1 Bold n Spicy, American cheese and spinach leaves, and then bed.

Some people wrote in, criticizing the show for too much Maureen (not enough Lou said one email) and generally being happy about Maureen leaving.
