Bill O'Reilly going nuts

By Dan @ LinoFans.com

Years ago, when future Fox News Network star Bill O’Reilly went on a profanity-laden tirade on the set of Inside Edition, he likely never dreamed his rant would be mocked years later on Catholic radio.

On Wednesday’s Catholic Guy Show, Lino Rulli played a clip of O’Reilly going nuts during a botched taped segment of Inside Edition. The recently rediscovered video, which has quickly gained popularity on the internet, shows a young(er) Bill O’Reilly losing his temper after an apparent teleprompter miscommunication.

“F--k, it, we’ll do it live!” a frustrated O’Reilly screams on the tape.

Jesus warns us in the Gospel that, “on the day of judgment people will render an account for every careless word they speak.” (Matthew 12:36)

I don’t mention this to condemn O’Reilly, but, instead, point this out as a reminder to myself or anyone else who might be tempted to look down on O’Reilly because of his outburst. All of us -- every single person reading this -- have lost our temper and acted stupidly before. (Lord knows I have.) The only difference is that Bill’s rant was captured on tape.

With all that being said, it’s still a pretty damn funny tape, and hopefully O’Reilly has enough of a sense of humor to look back at it and laugh along with the rest of us.

  1. The look on O'Reilly's face is faintly reminiscent of Lino's face after the whole "catholic channel" blog/EWTN fiasco, or Gus Loyd during Spring Broke when he found the half-empty bottle of Olde English
