The Catholic Guy Show mentioned on Stern Fan Network

While whining near the end of Monday's Catholic Guy Show about this blog not being updated lately, Lino Rulli said that he found out TCGS was mentioned on one of Howard Stern’s fan sites.

A member of the Stern Fan Network posted a YouTube clip of the July 11 show where Lino and CatholicGuyShow.com's own Father Jim Chern talked about a letter to the editor criticizing Lino in the St. Anthony Messenger magazine. Lino had been featured on the cover of the magazine's May issue.

The SFN poster commented, "It's interesting to hear them so laid back. Who knew?"

The angry letter writer, who Lino dubbed "'Clown Shoes' Craig," criticized Lino for naming radio "shock-jock" Howard Stern as one of his influences.

(Note: I actually found the SFN post a few days ago but was unsure whether it'd be a good idea to post a link to Stern Fan Network. But I figured, since Lino now mentioned it on the air, some fans would be curious.)

  1. Since listening to Lino, I've tried Howard twice. Each time I've been repulsed. Not my style at all. I know he is popular but remember porn makes more money than all the major sports combined. Just because it's popular doesn't make it right.

  2. It is definitely not everyone's thing -

For me, my favorite stuff usually came in the first hour or so, when it was just the crew BS-ing, Howard yelling at Gary about something, telling some funny story that happened after the show. The behind the scenes drama always cracked me up.

I realize the uncensored thing is what's a draw for some people, and I'm by no means a prude, but it seems we went from R-rated, to NC-17 to XXX at times. Thats just too much for me. And I personally get tired of some of the newer personalities (Richard and Sal)

But I do check out to see when they are back in the "R" range and can count on getting a good laugh from them. It's also great to hear some of the old shows uncensored and without all the commercials.

I guess this is one reason Lino and I get along...
