Of Saint Patrick, bishop, who, brought to Ireland from Britian as a captive in his youth, then, after he had regained his freedom, desired to be enrolled among the clergy and returned to the same isle, where, having been made a bishop, he proclaimed the Gospel to the people in a lively way and steadfastly established the Church until he fell asleep in the Lord near the city of Down in Ireland.
