from October 12 a mere fortnight until the man behind the mic becomes the old man behind the mic. Today we continue our Countdown to Old Age Glory with the daily reading and how it relates to Lino. (hey, if it gets Lino to look at the daily readings we are more than happy to stroke his ego. EGO ok!)
After Jesus had spoken,
a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home.
He entered and reclined at table to eat.
The Pharisee was amazed to see
that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal.
The Lord said to him, “Oh you Pharisees!
Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish,
inside you are filled with plunder and evil.
You fools!
Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside?
But as to what is within, give alms,
and behold, everything will be clean for you.”

Lino loves a good mocking. In this reading Jesus mocks the Pharisees for being clean and "holy" on the outside but not knowing the love and truth of God on the inside. Lino knows he has shortcomings, as we all do (his preferred term his hypocrite I believe) his is not afraid to show us that he works on making the inside holy as well.
