October 11 gives us 15 days to prepare a celebration for the anniversary of the day Lino came screaming into the world. How better than to take the daily reading and make it about Lino!
October 11 gives us 15 days to prepare a celebration for the anniversary of the day Lino came screaming into the world. How better than to take the daily reading and make it about Lino!
“This generation is an evil generation;
it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment
the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation
and she will condemn them,
because she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation
and condemn it,
because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
and there is something greater than Jonah here.”
Jonah was given a job to do and he didn't want to do it. (hmmm, sound like a certain Minnesotan who thought TV was his life calling and had no interest in radio?)
So God let Jonah get eaten by a whale (I've only got a nose joke for this and there really isn't any need to make Lino more self-conscious)
Once Jonah realized he had to carry out his orders he was successful in spreading God's word. (Lino, suck it up, you are REALLY good at getting people to listen to God's message without appearing 'holier than thou' we want to hear what you have to say, especially since it is a gift from God)
