Countdown to Glory - 20 days

With 20 days until The Predicament turns 39, we thought we'd start a countdown of sorts (what happened to our countdown this weekend? The goal? Take each day's readings and find a way to apply one of the passages to the life of Lino Rulli. And then, we have something VERY special waiting for Lino on October 26...and no, it won't require a restraining order. Yes, we would have done a 39-day countdown since he'll turn 39, but we're not paid for this, and as such, we show signs of laziness now and then, much to our amusement Lino's annoyance. Enjoy!





Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name,
your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”
What a wonderful teaching moment for the disciples. Jesus tells them how to pray, and gives us The Lord's Prayer, a prayer that Bible Geek said praying once a day for the rest of your life would do wonders for your spiritual life.
Teaching the disciples valuable lessons on how to follow Him was something Christ did often and well. Likewise, when I listen to Lino, I too learn valuable lessons that I can take with me and apply to my spiritual life. It's a topic that's been beaten to death, but Lino's show got me to start going back to church after taking years off, and in turn, got me to convert.
I am extremely grateful for a teacher like Lino. Perhaps if more people listened, we'd have more people dedicated to Christ.
